The Ultimate Guide of Expansion Joint at Flexpert Bellows

Flexpert Bellows Pvt Ltd started its journey  in  1992, with the prime object to manufacture the world - class expansion bellows, has now become a recognized and globally accepted provider of flexible piping systems exporting to more than 40+ countries with a wide installation base covering almost all industrial sectors including and as diversed   as nuclear power and space programs. Get to know the latest trend happening in industry of stainless steel metal bellows expansion joint.

Our wide range of products at Flexpert bellows:

Expansion Joints:

Exhaust expansion joint are designed to absorb the heat induced by expansion and contraction of pipe systems and exhaust system.  The spring rates for best overall performance. The typical pressure rating for exhaust expansion joint, temperature depending is 1.0 BarG

 Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint:

Externally Pressurized Expansion joint are the best in solution when the expansion joint must absorb very large amount of axial movement under high pressure. Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint are well protected under a cover transport damage to the involvement is unlikely to occur but most importantly, the cover offers maximum protection against leaking bellows or bellows failure.

Axial Expansion Joint

Axial Expansion Joint is designed to absorb to absorb axial movement (extension and compression in its longitudal axial movement direction). Axial Expansion Joint offers a simple and cost efficient solution in terms of movement compensation. Axial Expansion Joints can be equipped with all kinds of connectors, such welding ends or welded or lose  (rotatable) flanges

Lateral Expansion Joint

LateralExpansion Joint that mainly absorbs the lateral movement laterally along the section pipe. The lateral expansion joint is normally equipped with fixtures such as external tie rods, which allows the unit to absorb movements in all lateral direction but also absorbs the pressure thrust

Hinged Expansion Joint

Hinged Expansion Joint is a metallic assembly that can rotate in a single plane, used to absorb the changes resulting from the piping thermal expansion joint or contraction.

Universal Expansion Joint

A UniversalExpansion Joint contains two bellows with a connecting pipe or centre spool between them. It is usually furnished   with the limit rods depending upon the service conditions.

Gimbal Expansion Joint

Gimbalexpansion joints are designed to permit angular rotation in any plane by the use of two pairs of hinges affixed to a common floating Gimbal ring.

Inline pressurized expansion joint

A Pressure Balanced Expansion Joint  is normally a double bellows expansion joint with side outlet between the bellows

Elbow Pressurized expansion joint

Elbow pressure balanced expansion joints or corner relief expansion joints are the types of pressure balanced expansion joints,

Rectangular Expansion Joint

Rectangula rmetal Expansion Joints are designed to absorb the axial movements in all the three directions.  The Rectangular bellows are mostly designed for very low pressure applications such as ducts, exhaust systems ventilation system etc

Bellows Expansion Joint

Flexible bellows, is also called as expansion joints are flexible elements that absorbs movement in the pipe system.  These Movement absorb are defined by axial, lateral, angular, and universal movement

Gimbal Expansion Joint

What is Gimbal Expansion Joint? Design to absorb the system thurst and torsional twist while allowing angulation in any plane. This is a single expansion joint designed to permit angular rotation in any plane by the use of two pairs of hinges affixed to common floating gimbal ring. Gimbal Expansion Joint Double Bellows Gimbal Expansion Joints with weld ends Gimbal Expansion Joints are used to absorb angular rotation in any plane direction, using two pairs of hinges attached to a common floating gimbal ring. This type of construction provides a close control over the movement imposed up on the bellows and also supports the dead weight of the pipe. The wind and shear loads are also taken care of by the gimbal structure. Gimbal bellows joints are designed to absorb the full pressure thrust load of the expansion joint and thus guard the adjacent equipment from damage due to thrust loading. Gimbal bellows joints are not limited to a single plane, they provide greater usability.  Gimb...

Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint | Flexpert Bellows

Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint Externally Pressurized Expansion Joint is the perfect solution when the expansion joint must absorb  large  axial movement under High Pressure. Externally Pressurized Expansion Joints Absorbs large axial movements without squirm.  Eliminates main anchors.   Minimum guiding required for externally pressurized expansion joints   Heavy duty construction for bellow protection. The Externally Pressurized Expansion Joints provide very low turbulence to f the flowing medium due to the fact that the internal surface of pipeline itself works as the liner for this expansion joint. As the thermal expansion in externally pressurized expansion joints occur  the bellows element brining the internal guide rings closer reducing the gap between them and then medium can flow through this joints as if it were not there.

Failure analysis of Expansion Joint ( Bellows)

What is the Failure of bellows? Improper installation Improper anchoring and supporting of piping system Bellows corrosion – both internal and external System overpressure during operation or testing Bellows vibration; mechanical or flow-induced resulting high cycle, fatigue caused by excessive vibration from connected equipment or the turbulent flow on from very high velocity Excessive bellow deflection: Axial, lateral, and angular movement greater than design valve torsion of the bellows What happens when expansion joints fail? Metal Expansion Joints include bellows which work like a sealed spring to allow expansion, flexibility, and movements. Without Bellows, pipes and hoses could crack and damage the various pressure compressing your entire system.
